Join us for a new monthly STEAM (science, tech, engineering, arts, & math) program, recommended for ages 8-12. April’s activity will be exploring propulsion and the Laws of Motion with balloon-powered “cars”.

Beloved Trinkets: Crafts for Moms

Looking to create something special for your mom? Maybe even your Grandma? Dads! This is the perfect opportunity to bring the kids in to create a beloved item.
The library will be providing fun supplies and instructables to create some awesome gifts for mom this Mother’s Day.
Younger children may need adult assistance.
Swim Fun and Safety

Join Ferndale Library as we welcome SafeSplash Swim School as they host a fun afternoon with stories and activities all about swimming!
SafeSplash swim school prides itself in being an active part of its community and providing resources for families and community members to learn water safety first hand.
In partnership with local libraries and schools, SafeSplash’s water safety program ranges for children 3 years to 12 years. The program reiterates basic water safety rules, tips for safe water play and the importance of swim lessons! Children will have the hands on chance to learn how to use swim caps, swim goggles, and life jackets.

Full STEAM Ahead: Banana Keyboards
Tuesday, May 22nd | 6:30 PM
Join us for a new monthly STEAM (science, tech, engineering, arts, & math) program, recommended for ages 8-12. May’s activity will explore circuitry with Makey Makey controllers, which allow you to turn almost anything into a keyboard.
These programs are very hands on, so registration is recommended. Register by calling 248-546-2504 or stop by the youth desk.
The youth services department provides programs and events that reach out to the young members of the community. Most of our programs do not require registration, unless otherwise noted. Our programs are open to all attendees, regardless of library card or residency.
